Meet Your Trainer

Nathan Kendrick is the founder of The Work Room GR, a private fitness gym in Grand Rapids built on the belief that progress thrives in a space that’s personal, focused, and supportive. With over a decade in the fitness industry, Nathan combines expertise with empathy to help clients move forward with confidence.

He holds a B.S. in Exercise Science from the University of Central Florida and certifications in Functional Movement Systems (FMS) Levels 1 & 2 and Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) Level 1, specializing in golf-specific training. His focus areas include strength, mobility, weight loss, and adult functional training.

Nathan’s journey began in sports, but his passion quickly shifted to the process of growth and coaching. He trained under Derek Touchette at Total Athletic Performance in Naples, FL, and later served as Assistant Director at Power Train Sports & Fitness in Orlando. After relocating to Grand Rapids, he refined his approach to adult functional training—eventually launching The Work Room GR.

Now based in Rockford, MI, Nathan lives with his wife Sam, their daughter Jules, and their goldendoodle, Ren. Outside the gym, he enjoys golf, family time, church, and coffee catch-ups with friends. And yes—“Rocky Top” plays every fall Saturday morning in the gym. Go Vols!

Nathan’s mission is simple: create a space that’s truly yours—where encouragement replaces intimidation, and hard work leads to lasting results.
